Brooke Burke-Charvet announced on Saturday she was not asked to return to 'Dancing with the Stars for season 18.
Brooke Burke-Charvet announced she was not asked to return as host of "Dancing with the Stars" after eight seasons.
"Weird day ... Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS ...ME. Tom Bergeron didn't even read my name," Burke-Charvet tweeted Saturday at midnight.
"I won't be returning to the show this season."
The 42-year-old brunette beauty, who made her debut on the show as the season seven winner before replacing host Samantha Harris in season 10, told E! News about her departure.
"I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture," she told the site.
"I've always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn't able to entertain because of contractual obligations to the show. I've seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake."
"We can confirm that Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining us next season," Conrad Green, Executive Producer of "Dancing with the Stars" told the Daily News in a statement . "She's been a wonderful part of the "Dancing with the Stars" family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We'd like to thank Brooke for her years of great service."
Burke-Charvet's shocking exit isn't the only huge change happening on the veteran dancing show.
"DWTS" let go of their 28-person band lead by Harold Wheeler.
No word of who replace Burke-Charvet just yet but Tom Bergeron will remain in his role.
The season 18 cast is set to be announced live on "Good Morning America" on March 4 with a premiere date of March 17.
